FAQs: SHIPPING

WHEN WILL MY ORDER BE DELIVERED?

We normally aim to dispatch all orders on the next working day, and usually take between 1-5 working days to arrive. Custom text items are made to order, and take up to 5 days to dispatch. Please see your tracking number for further information. If there are any further delays beyond this, we will get in touch with an estimated delivery date.

CAN I CHANGE MY DELIVERY DATE?

No, sadly once dispatched, our carrier will attempt to deliver to you ASAP. If you are not in, you will receive a card through your door with further instructions, including rescheduling your delivery, changing the delivery address, and pick up options.

WHERE DO YOU DELIVER?

We currently only offer delivery options to United Kingdom and some parts of Europe. We can deliver outside of these territories, but if you are shopping from outside these locations, please get in contact with us first so we can confirm we ship to your location and the cost in doing so.

Items ship Recorded Delivery: Monday to Friday only. Please allow 5 working days for dispatch.

HOW MUCH DOES DELIVERY COST?

The delivery costs listed below are based on actual costs with Royal Mail and couriers, and are subject to change.

  • United Kingdom: £5 on orders £30 and under, free shipping on orders over £30 with Royal Mail Tracked 48 service (Tracked door to door)
  • UK express shipping: £8 with Royal Mail Tracked 24 or UPS Next Day service (please note, dispatch time remains the same)
  • Germany: Flat rate £11
  • Ireland, Netherlands, France, Belgium: Flat rate £13
  • Poland, Austria: Flat rate £15
  • Spain, Sweden, Italy: Flat rate £16
  • Portugal: Flat rate £17
  • Greece: Flat rate £22

Please note for delivery outside UK, since 1st January customs checks have been put in place which can cause delays, import fees such as VAT and handling fees. As these can be unforeseen, unfortunately we do not pay these in advance, and you will be responsible for any extra charges after dispatch.

WHAT METHODS OF PAYMENT DO YOU ACCEPT?

We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Maestro cards. We also accept Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Paypal, as well as various other wallet payment types.

Sadly we currently do not accept all other forms of payment.

HOW CAN I CHANGE MY BILLING ADDRESS?

Please sign into your account, and under account settings, you will be able to change your billing address.

CAN MY ORDER BE GIFT WRAPPED?

We offer luxury gift wrapping which is perfect for gifting. Otherwise all orders are packed in eco-friendly kraft packaging and we can include a gift note if you add your message to the notes field during checkout

DO I HAVE TO USE YOUR FONT FOR THE PERSONALISED CANDLE?

Not at all, if you’d like something in particular please get in touch and we’ll do our best to help!

 

FAQs: GENERAL

WHAT MAKES YOUR CANDLES DIFFERENT?

We have taken every effort to remove toxins and nasties from our candles, even down to the priming of the wicks in-house to avoid the thin layer of paraffin found on most pre-waxed wicks. All of our scents are blended by us using only pure essential oils, with rapeseed and coconut wax.

WHY ARE YOUR CANDLES MORE EXPENSIVE THAN OTHER BRANDS AVAILABLE?

At Little Karma Co. Ltd every single one of our candles are handcrafted with love and care using natural wax and pure essential oils. They aren’t mass produced or made with paraffin wax and synthetically-made fragrance oils, which is how some companies make much cheaper candles.  

 

 

FAQs: REFILLS

IS REFILLING A CANDLE DANGEROUS? 

 

Not at all, if refilling a Little Karma Co. Ltd candle glass with one of our candle refills .  Please make sure to check the glass for any signs of damage before refilling such as a crack or chip. If the glass has been dropped or there are visible signs of damage please do not attempt to refill. We recommend using hot tap water, not boiling water to clean out the old wax. Please get in touch if you have any questions or concerns. 

CAN I USE YOUR REFILLS IN MY CANDLE GLASS FROM BYREDO (for example)?

We cannot guarantee our refills will fit into other vessels or that other vessels are suitable to be reused in the same way.

 

FAQs: SAFETY

WHY ARE THERE WARNING LABELS ON MY CANDLES?

All our candles are labelled in compliance with UK and European CLP regulations to communicate the hazards of chemicals. Although our candles are natural and clean when burned, the essential oils require classification in case of ingestion or in some rare cases, contact with skin. 

SHOULD I LEAVE MY CANDLE BURNING ALL DAY?

Along with the normal dangers of leaving a naked flame unattended, carbon buildup from extended burning leads to soot buildup on the wick and  glass, which means it is no longer clean burning. We recommend to extinguish your candle no later than 4 hours, let it cool so the wax sets, then trim the wick to 5mm and relight.

WHY DO I NEED TO TRIM THE WICK TO 5MM BEFORE LIGHTING EACH TIME? 

Trimming the wicK removes the most burned section of the wick, which will promote a cleaner burn and will also make your candle last longer due to the wick burning with the correct size flame.

 

WHY WOULD THE WICK COME AWAY FROM THE CENTRE? WHY DO I NEED TO CONTACT YOU IF THIS HAPPENS? 

We use a vegan, plastic free adhesive to attach the wicks to the glass. Sometimes this can come away. If the wick does seems to come unstuck and slide to one side, please extinguish the flame and get in touch with us, and we will happily replace the candle for you. We recommend following standard candle safety instructions such as keeping your lit candle on a flat, level heat resistant surface and not leaving it unattended.

ARE YOUR CANDLES REALLY CLEAN BURNING?

Yes, our candles have been independently tested for sooting behaviour by a laboratory and found to be among the cleanest candles they’ve ever tested!

 

HOW ARE YOUR CANDLES VEGAN?

There are no animal by-products in the materials we use to make our candles and are cruelty-free as there is no testing done on animals.

 

ARE YOUR CANDLES REALLY ECO FRIENDLY?

We’ve carefully selected the most eco friendly and sustainable options possible for every part of the process. From moving away from materials that are made in China in favour of UK and European manufacturing, to using all recycled, compostable and biodegradable packaging. For example, our labels are made from Bagasse which is a sugar cane waste byproduct making it a renewable material.  

 

WHY DON’T YOUR CANDLES SMELL AS STRONG AS IKEA/YANKEE CANDLES (for example)?

All of our candles are fragranced with our own pure natural essential oil blends. Candles from these sort of brands are often made using fragrance oils with added synthetic boosters such as phtalates and parabens, which give them a stronger but much less natural scent, as well as having some detrimental effects to your health. 

 

ARE YOU REALLY 100% PLASTIC FREE?

Yes, we do not use plastic in any of our packaging, including our packing tape and the tape used for gift wrapping which are either ‘washi’ (paper) tape or plant based tape!
